At Northlakes High School, the Northlakes Dance Company is a dynamic, inclusive and targeted performance program offered to students in Years 7–12. Designed to identify, nurture and extend talent, the program supports dancers of all abilities while maintaining high expectations for commitment, growth and excellence.
The Dance Company operates as two ensembles, a Junior Company and a Senior Company, allowing students to develop within age-appropriate groups while working towards a shared standard of performance quality. As a targeted 'Inspired HPGE' program, Dance Company sets clear expectations around attendance, teamwork, rehearsal focus and performance standards. Students are challenged to refine their technique, strengthen their artistry and demonstrate professionalism in every rehearsal and performance.
Dancers train and perform in a wide variety of styles including lyrical, contemporary, jazz, hip hop and musical theatre, building versatility and well-rounded performance skills. The program fosters discipline, resilience and collaboration, encouraging students to strive for personal bests while supporting one another as a cohesive ensemble.
Northlakes Dance Company proudly represents the school at a range of prestigious events including Pulse Alive, Star Struck, Central Coast Dance Festival, Central Coast Schools Showcase, Australian Dance Festival (ADF), Schools Spectacular, dance competitions and many more community and regional performances. These opportunities provide students with the experience of performing in professional theatre venues and large-scale productions, building confidence, stage presence and pride in representing their school.
Additional performance and leadership opportunities are available for our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) students, including featured and soloist roles within major productions, further extending students who demonstrate outstanding commitment and capability.
The Northlakes Dance Company is more than just a performance ensemble, it is a vibrant and supportive community where students develop skill, character and confidence through a shared passion for dance.
We warmly invite prospective students and families to join us and become part of the thriving dance culture at Northlakes High School.
