The Growth, Readiness and Creating Empowerment (GRACE) is an 'Inspired HPGE' program at Northlakes High School. It is through this program we target HPGE girls in the social/ emotional domain and make a real difference in the lives of the girls who are selected to be part of the GRACE program.
It is our belief that the key values of the GRACE Program reflect the characteristics of strong women in society and that girls need to be given an opportunity to develop and create empowerment. It is about ensuring that girls develop the socio-emotional and life skills necessary to navigate and adapt to a changing world, make decisions about their own lives and contribute to their communities and the world.
The school-based program covers three areas:
· Respectful Relationships- Developing leadership, community engagement
· Health Body, Healthy Mind - Understanding physical activity, health, nutrition and focusing on wellbeing
· Transition - Exploring future pathways and careers
To foster these concepts, the program consists of physical activity, self-care exercises/activities and community involvement as a medium to deliver these lessons as well as a mentor program on a fortnightly basis.
GRACE is about improving positive, respectful relationships which promote student wellbeing by working together, physically and mentally and acting as positive role models for our school and community. Effort, approach and attitude lead to success in life.
The GRACE program is available to students in years 10 to 12 via a self or staff nomination process.
