This program targets students who are identified as gifted in Rugby League. This program provides opportunities for students to participate in weekly training sessions to focus on individual and team development. The program provides opportunities for both junior and senior teams to compete in a range of organised school games and interschool fixtures, ensuring students experience regular meaningful competition. In addition, teams participate in local and regional gala days throughout the year, allowing players to showcase their skills, build teamwork, and engage positively with other schools. These events are integral to prepare committed and talented students for the highly competitive Sydney North trials, with training programs designed to build technical, tactical and physical competencies required for representative-level play.
A key feature of the program is its focus on attendance, responsibility, and school engagement. Students are eligible to receive the official Rugby League Program uniform only if they maintain a school attendance rate above 90%, reinforcing the importance of commitment. This expectation helps students develop consistent routine, personal accountability, and a strong connection to their learning. Students will also not be allowed to attend training or games of they are placed on any monitoring cards for either behaviour or attendance.
This program is supported with partnerships that comes to school with external coaching assistants and links with the NRL.
