Year 7 & 8 Technology Mandatory
Students in Year 7 and 8 Technology Mandatory undertake a range of experiences in order to become familiar with the different technologies offered at our school. They will complete 6 design projects over the two years.. The course aims to develop student's ability to design, produce and evaluate quality solutions to specific situations.
A range of practical experiences will occupy the majority of course time and students will need to safely and creatively use and select materials, tools and techniques to satisfy the design criteria for each of the design projects. ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) are integrated within each design project to assist the development of various skills and knowledge.
Students are required to complete all design projects so that they integrate a design focus and various technologies.
Students will complete 3 different Technology topics across Year 7 and 3 topics in Year 8, these may include:
- Timber Technology
- Metal Technology
- Food Technology
- Textile Technology
- Computer technology
- Graphics Technology
